Frequently
Asked Questions:
- I just lost a match, what should I
do? - Well, tough luck this week. Before your
roleplay for your next match make sure the person you're going to
fight isn't a lot tougher than you. Can you imagine Road Dogg
trying to beat Stone Cold? If the guy you'd planned on fighting
is a lot tougher than you, try to find someone more at your level and
work up to the bigger guys. Also, try to make longer roleplays
that include character devlopement and more settings than just walking
down into the ring and insulting the other guy. As we'll explain
more in FAQ number three, there's also a bit of luck involved in
winning and losing, so don't discount that even if you had a great
week of roleplaying.
- Another wrestler just called my
character an idiot, should I send him a death threat? -
TXW is, believe
it or not, a game. What that means is that in the
real world it doesn't make much of a difference, and is only something
we do for fun. Please don't let feuds in TXW follow you into the real
world. Sadly, we've had a few problems with this in the past. Also, if you're not having a good time in TXW, contact me and
maybe we can fix whatever's bothering you.
- How matches are run? -
All matches
in TXW are run on a wrestling simulator called Zeus Pro. How well your
character does is based on how their attributes, moves and push
compares to their opponent. A Push is based on your roleplaying each
week. After Zeus gives the outline for a match, we look it over
and try to fix any grammar problems and write in witty, yet insightful
commentary. It can be a long process, but the results are well
worth it when compared to what Zeus spits out.
*Please bare in mind, even if you have a higher push you still may lose
thanks to the amount of random luck that seems to go with the
simulator (you could go 0/10 with somebody and then all of a sudden
beat the heck out of them).
- I'm really enjoying myself here
in TXW, can I have more characters? -
While TXW
does not restrict the number of characters each player has, I will ask
you to only increase your characters by one at a time. This will
ensure that you don't get too many and are unable to keep up with all
of them. TXW doesn't need to be full of characters that are never
used, if you decide not to use one anymore, please let me know so they can be
taken off the site. (there's no need for anyone to challenge somebody
who isn't going to answer)
- Damn bitch, I do love to cuss,
is that fine with you? - TXW is not too
concerned with cussing, if you don't like it, you can kiss my... um,
that is to say... as much as we're sorry if this offends you, it's the
way we are here in TXW, and if you are uncomfortable with this, just
skip over it when reading other peoples posts. However, if you make a post that's just
swearing, it probably won't earn you a lot of push, so find a balance.
- I saw a listing of stables at
the bottom of the roster, how can I start one, too? - Each Stable has a total
of ten points. It costs two points to have an active wrestler in your
stable and one point to have a manager or valet who does not enter the
ring on a regular basis, just to interfere or for special
matches. If you would like to start your own
stable you will have to fill out the stable application form, which be reached from the join
page.
- So now that I won a title at TXW,
does mean it belongs to me? - No, much like FAQ number 2, this was
a problem that popped up unexpectedly, forcing us to make another rule
we thought was just understood all along. The belt itself
belongs to TXW, when you win a match, you earn the right to carry that
belt around under the condition that when you are asked to defend it,
you will. If you give the belt away to someone not recognized by
TXW, it means nothing more than if you'd taken a folding chair that
belonged to TXW and gave it to them. The belt is not the part
that matters, it is only an object, the real thing you are competing
for is the honor to have TXW acknowledge your skills.
- Ok, so I can't take the title
away from TXW, but I only have to defend it at pay per views, right?
Yes, the only matches title holders are required to participate
in are the monthly pay per views. However, if a title holder
goes into the show having slacked off the whole month and avoided the
roleplaying board, we reserve the right to lower his or her push by 25%.
This prevents people from showing up a week before the show, pumping
out a brilliant feud, retaining the title then shutting up for another
month.
Check back every now and
then, I may have added a rule that you are not aware of.
I would welcome any
suggestions for other rules, or if you want to make a run-in e-mail me at txw@leftmoon.com. |
