After chasing CM-51 for a month,
facing run-ins, six-man tags, and everything else CM-51 could find
to try and keep from fighting Axl, Axl got his rematch. He
didn't waste it and scored a resounding win over CM-51 to become
Crusader champion. The next month he beat CM-51's tag
partner, Chris Steel, in a table
match at Payback. Axl
battled BigBadLard to a double DQ at Overdrive at the end of
2002.

Andy Sykes avenged his friend Sage
Sawyer a week after he'd been forced to relinquish the Crusader
title, by defeating Chris Steel. A month later at Phenix,
Sykes had back-to-back defenses against
the Boogie Man and Vangea
in a Cell.

Five's undefeated streak came to a
'shocking' end in this strap match that saw the beginning to
Deed's of Destruction. At the next Rage, Sage fought
off the Cae, suffering a small arm injury in the process, the
next week he
defeated Alpha. Finally, at Faceoff, Sage
defended against a more worthy opponent and won against Five
in a bard-filled Adrenalin Match. Sage also lost a match via
DQ to Chris Steel.

Mr.
Incendiary defeated Phom in a rematch, but this time it wasn't
anything as nice as a Cell match. The battle was waged in a truly
vicious Barbed wire match at TXW Payback.
When TXW shutdown, Mr. Incendiary took the opportunity to carry
the Crusader Title with him to TWF where the original belt still
resides. |
