after two years in TXW by defeating Alpha and then Kirk Johnson in
a cage match arranged by the Boogie Man. Later that month at
Payback, BBL retained
against Kirk via DQ. At the final PPV of 2002,
Overdrive, BBL went to a double

Forbid the use of his hockey stick,
the Bird defeated the man who'd beaten him two weeks prior in an
impressive ladder match on Rage. Two weeks later, the Bird
defeated MITH. The next month he defended against
Faceoff 2002 winner, the Avalanche, in an exhausting TLC
match at Phenix. At Nemesis he fought off the man who
had mindlessly pushed the Bird towards the Championship when he pinned
BigBadLard in a hardcore match. The next month at
Fearscape, a strangely angry Bird was able to come
back with a win after several near-losses.

A week after Slash powerbombed CM-51
through a table on Rage, CM-51 returned the favor at Hellfire for
the title in a table match. The next month at Faceoff, CM-51
almost
lost the title to the Bird in a hardcore match before his union with One saved him
for the time being.

The table match was the
match of choice for Mr. Important throughout his career, so it was
only fitting that his top match at the time would be a table match
against Mr. Carter. Important went on the hold the title until
TXW went off the air. Defending it to the Domestic
Dentist Samurai.

TXW
Faceoff
August 26, 2000 |
--- |
At the first ever TXW
pay-per-view, Slash N' Burn became the first TXW Champion. It was a
match originally intended to be fixed between Mr. Carter and Luke
Smith, the void made it's power known and replaced Smith with
Slash N' Burn who would go on to create a major upset by
withstanding a Management onslaught and pinning Mr. Carter.
