The Royal Trifain Confederacy Symbol.  The gray background represents unity of the Trifain worlds,   the red triangle is Fain Prime, the blue triangle is Fain-Six, the yellow is Woc-Ten, and the green is the colony on Fain-Three which was raided by Klingons who killed all the inhabitants.

To the left is a Trifain man.   The Trifain are covered with a light gas with prevents them from any harm caused by an energy weapon.  It is Trifain custom to wish an enemy good luck before any war, if the enemy does not return the gesture, then the good luck wished upon the enemy becomes bad luck.  Most Romulan commanders return the gesture although they do not believe in it.

The Trifain Confederacy and Romulan Empire have been fighting for almost 200 years.  While there was not a constant war during all that time, over the 198 years of contact, there have been 23 years of declared war, 45 years of undeclared war, and only 4 years in which there were no skirmishes.

Because of this almost constant warfare, both sides have developed some of the other's tactics, the Trifain stole from the Romulan's the cloak and were the first to create a working phase-cloak.  Fortunately, the Tal Shiar were able to destroy the project, all notes about it, and kill all of the scientists working on the project, this started the 2nd Trifain/Romulan war.  On the other hand, the Romulans adapted the Trifain love for terrorism into the galaxies most efficient spy and terrorist group, the Givers, an elite part of the Tal Shiar.
